PNG Power Staff Savings and Loans society, under its Medicare Scheme, made a payout of over K73,000 to two families last week for Life Insurance.
The event took place at the PPL Training theatre last week in Port Moresby.
Chairman of the society Mr Chris Bais was there to officiate at the presentation of cheques to the two families.
The first recipient was Mr Omohae Hume, a patrolman under the General Council of PPL, and also an active contributor to the society. He received a total of K18,200 as funeral expenses and death benefit, following the passing of his wife. He was there to receive his payments along with his 3 daughters and a son.
The second recipients were the husband and 3 children of the Late Pauline Sangimanumbuk, who was also a contributor to the society and works under the Customer Service Section of PPL when she passed away. A total of K55, 000 was paid to the husband, including their children who are benefactors.
Mr Bais says the contributions of staff of PPL to the society are very important when it comes to such cases of deaths and other related needs.
He thanked Mr Huma, and Late Mrs Sangimanumbuk, through her husband for thinking about the wellbeing of their families by contributing to the society.
Mr Bais encouraged them to put to good use their benefits they just received. He says such contributions took personal sacrifices of both Mr Hume and Late Mrs Sangimanumbuk and that should not be forgotten when putting to use those benefits.
