The PNG Power Staff Savings & Loan Society Limited (PPSSLS) is pleased to advise all financial members that the nomination period for the PPSSLS Board of Directors Election 2026 is now open. This election is an important governance process for the Society and provides members the opportunity to participate in selecting representatives who will help guide the future direction, stability, and growth of PPSSLS.
This election is especially significant because it has been delayed for almost three years. As a member-owned savings and loan society, regular elections are essential to ensure transparency, accountability, and strong representation at Board level. The 2026 election gives members the opportunity to restore and strengthen the democratic process within the Society by nominating qualified candidates and actively participating in the election.
Nominations opened on Monday, 04 May 2026 and will close by close of business on Friday, 15 May 2026. Eligible financial members who wish to nominate candidates, or contest for a position on the Board, are encouraged to collect and complete the official nomination forms as soon as possible. Members are also reminded that nomination forms must be completed correctly, signed, and submitted before the closing date. Incomplete or late nomination forms may not be accepted.
A total of six (6) Executive Director positions will be contested in this election. Members are encouraged to nominate suitable candidates who demonstrate integrity, commitment, leadership, and a genuine interest in protecting and advancing the interests of all PPSSLS members. The elected Directors will play an important role in ensuring that the Society continues to operate in line with good governance standards, regulatory requirements, and the best interests of its members.
Completed nomination forms must be sent directly to the Returning Officer, Mr. Desmond Timiyaso of the Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission. Members may submit their completed forms by email to timiyaso@gmail.com or by WhatsApp to 77511915.
Following the nomination period, the formal election process will continue according to the approved election schedule. Postal polling for outer centres is scheduled to run from Monday, 25 May 2026 to Friday, 05 June 2026, while polling for NCD/Central locations, including Hohola, Boroko, Kanudi and Rouna, is scheduled for Monday, 08 June to Tuesday, 09 June 2026. Counting is expected to take place from Wednesday, 10 June to Thursday, 11 June 2026, with the declaration of results scheduled for Thursday, 11 June 2026.
PPSSLS encourages all financial members to take this election seriously and participate fully. Your participation will help ensure that the Society is led by a properly elected Board that reflects the voice and confidence of its members.
